Air Conditioning - Courts Closed 27-29 April

I am delighted to report that we are going ahead with the installation of air conditioning on the squash courts and that this will be done between Monday 27th and Wednesday 29th April. The courts will therefore be closed these three days. The air conditioning is to be set so that it keeps the courts at above 15 deg C in winter (the SRA recommended level) and below 21 deg C in summer at all playing times. It will take a while to ensure that the controls on the units are set so that the units work to best achieve this. This will take time so please bear with us while we try to get the adjustment correct. We will also have to monitor the running costs as our research has not enabled us to ascertain sufficiently precisely this aspect of introducing air conditioning. The cost of the courts will be raised by 50p per court from 1st May to cover running costs and gradual repayment of the units, but if the running costs are significantly greater than expected this may have to be revised, but this will not be done before April 2016 to give us time to observe and if necessary optimise the use of units Bookings by junior members between 8.40am and 4.40pm on weekdays remains free. Andrew jennings Squash Captain.
