I am sorry to report that Brenton Gage has resigned as our squash Coach. Brenton has been squash coach for the last six years during which time we have seen a material growth in the number of adult squash players, the institution of increasingly popular Squash Club Evenings on Sundays and of Club Coaching on Wednesdays. More recently he has run our racketball evenings on Fridays and taken over the junior coaching. In addition, over this period the quality of squash at Sutton has improved markedly with our first team in the highest Surrey League division for very many years.
With Brenton leaving Alan Taffinder, who is currently playing No1 for our first squash team, has kindly agreed to run the Wednesday evening Club Coaching sessions, so these sessions will continue to run as they currently have done under Brenton. This will start tomorrow, Wednesday 7th June.
In addition, Alan Taffinder and Phil Coleman will be supervising the Club Squash Evenings on a Sunday.
For the racketball evenings on Fridays the courts will still be available for members to come along and play and mix in with others present to enjoy a few games of racketball.
From time to time other first (or ex-first team) members will take over from Alan or Phil if they are not available.
We will be advertising for a squash coach to replace Brenton.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Brenton for all that he has done for squash at Sutton.
