I am delighted to announce that Sam Hodgkins has agreed to be our Squash Coach.
Sam is a Level 3 Advanced Squash Coach, who has been coaching full-time for more than five years. He is experienced working with players from complete beginner level to country standard, professionals, and nationally ranked juniors. Sam started his coaching career at a number of clubs in the Midlands, acting as Shropshire's County Junior Coach, and delivering successful junior programs at Leicester Squash Club and Burton Tennis and Squash Club. He is also experienced coaching adults and teams, having been head coach at the University of Loughborough and De Montford University. Sam is a keen player himself, gaining a world ranking. He currently plays No1 for David Lloyd Purley second team who last year gained promotion to Surrey Division 1. He was the Shropshire county champion for three consecutive years.
Sam will be taking on the Club Coaching but due to other commitments these will now be every Thursday evening at 7.20 and 8pm rather than Wednesday evenings. These will still be £4 per session.
Sam will also be taking on running the squash for all, Sunday Evening Club Nights from 5.20. Sam will also be available for individual lessons and will be establishing a junior's squash coaching programme as well as a range of other activities which I hope to be able to announce soon.
The squash committee are thrilled that we have been able to attract someone with Sam's ability and expertise to coach at Sutton and we thoroughly look forward to working with him.
