Dear Members,
We are pleased to announce the first phase in the return of Squash & Racketball.
Following Government, Sports England and England Squash guidelines, the implementation of new systems and procedures have been necessary in order for us to open.
Whilst we can't get back to normal just yet, there is a sign of recovery. The guidance provided must be strictly followed by all to ensure the health and safety of fellow members and staff.
Booking system
- The booking system has been adapted to allow for minimal overlap of people and the recommended air circulation period between bookings
- All court bookings are to be made online prior to attending the club. The court touchscreen will be out of use until further notice
Access to the courts
- Please arrive no more than five mins prior to your booking in squash attire as the changing and shower facilities will be closed
- You must leave as soon as your session has ended
- The only access to the courts is via the external back door, you will need your swipe card
- Please use the provided hand sanitiser before you enter
- The viewing gallery is closed, your belongings should be taken on court with you
- The water dispenser will also be out of use so please bring refreshments with you.
Health and safety
- We ask that you wipe the door handles of the courts with the provided anti-bacterial wipes as you enter and leave the court and also use the hand sanitiser provided
- Please do not touch the court walls or share equipment of any kind
- As a friendly reminder we have CCTV throughout the club to confirm abidance of the rules. We are doing everything we can to prevent any further closures to the facilities
Rules of play
- Members are allowed solo practice
- Members of the same household may play a competitive match unrestricted
- The modified game 'Sides' between two households is permitted with social distancing requirements being upheld at all times
A description and video of 'Sides' will be made available on our website
- Maximum of two people on court at any one time
Thank you to everyone who has shown support to the club over this difficult time by continuing your membership. This has been a lifeline in securing the future and continued operation of STSC.
